Monday, August 11th: HealthWorks Northwest is pleased to welcome James Ostrander, DO (Doc "O")! Dr. Ostrander begins Monday, August 11th and will serve as full-time Medical Director and Medical Review Officer (MRO) at both HealthWorks Northwest clinics in Longview and Chehalis.

Dr. Ostrander is a board-certified Family Practice physician and board-eligible in Occupational Health. He is also a certified Medical Review Officer (MRO) and will be the primary MRO for HealthWorks Northwest. Lance Brigman, MD will continue as an MRO for HealthWorks as well.

"Dr. Ostrander brings a new level of occupational health expertise to the region, having worked for years in the medical center of a large paper mill as well has his years of practice with the United States Air Force," explained clinic director Steve Maldonado. In addition to physical exams, Dr. Ostrander will treat injured workers and will is FAA-qualifed for flight physicals for commercial pilots.

Dr. Ostrander will also write a regular column in e-Brief, the newsletter for employers published by HealthWorks Northwest.

Doctor James Ostrander is back, and we've got him! Returning from active duty with the US Air Force, Doc O begins his practice at HealthWorks Northwest on August 12th. He is a board-certified Family Practice physician and has worked in Occupational Health for the past 18 years. He is also a chief flight surgeon for the Air Force and is certified to perform FAA physicals.

Doc O will also treat walk-in on-the-job injuries and will provide follow up care and treatment. Having worked the last several years at a large paper mill, he is very aware of the back-to-work requirements for employers and is available for telephone consultations.

Effective immediately, employees can now schedule physical exams on Sunday in Lewis County. Here's how it works. Employers can call our regular Chehalis office phone number at 360.740.0444 and book their appointments. Our staff will get all of the pre-work done at our office. Then on Sunday (or any other day you choose), simply show up for your physical exam and it's done!

HealthWorks can do this thanks to our new partnership with Paul Williams, MD and the QuickClinic in Centralia. With QuickClinic's extended hours--Monday through Friday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and Sundays 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm--HealthWorks Northwest customers can now enjoy the convenience of weekend appointments.
